  • Upcoming Events
    • Big Brew – May 7, 2022
      • There is a need for beer donation (Kegs, bottles, growlers etc), pouring and brewer volunteers
    • Homebrew Con 2022
      • Currently not enough interest for the Guild to participate in Club Night
      • Booth logo work and updates will continue as planned
    • Q2 Competition American Amber Ale (19A) – June
      • Steve Lusk will bring samples and give a style presentation at the April meeting
  • 25th Anniversary Event (Sep or Oct 2022)
    • There are discussions of the following:
      • Talking to Lisa Fenderson at PBS about running an expose of the SCBG focusing on transitions of members from homebrewing to professional brewing.
      • Deciding on a 25th anniversary recipe to be brewed by the SCBG or at a commercial brewery. Proceeds would go to a charity TBD.
      • Guild get together portion may include a pig roast and feature the anniversary recipe beer.
      • More info to come.
  • Q1 Competition Ordinary Bitter (11A) results

    • Robb Burden donated two gift cards to Southern Hills Homebrew Supply for brew and judge
      drawings. Matt Klumpp won the brewer and Chris Kyle won the judge drawing.

  • SCBG Monthly Pub Night interest
    • 1st SCBG Pub Night will be @ Twisted Track Brewpub on Wednesday April 6th 6PM
  • Feeding Southwest VA event
    • Keith Fields will be reaching out to Randy Holden at Feeding Southwest Virginia for attendance requirements and further details.
  • Open Floor
    • John Thompson invited all Guild members to his house for a barbecue on April 10 th. Contact John at GaidinJT@Shentel.net if interested for address and time information.
