Guild members brew to the competition style and are judged by the members using guidelines written by the Beer Judge Certification Program (BJCP). First, second and third place trophies are awarded each quarter. Members earn cumulative points toward an overall year's total, the highest scorer being awarded "Brewer of the Year" honors and have their name engraved on the Brewer of the Year plaque.
